Born in Peru and raised in Chile, Isabel Allende is the author of seven novels, including most recently, Portrait
in Sepia and Daughter of Fortune. Her books have been translated into more than twenty-seven languages and have
become bestsellers across four continents. Now living in California, Allende has been recently inducted into the Amaerican
Academy pf Arts and Letters.
